Position Summary:

The Private Banking Relationship Manager builds relationships and rapport with clients and potential clients through the appropriate profiling and sale of products and services to fit their needs. The banker's job is mix of sales and customer service. The person also serves as a liaison with other banks, corporate clients and retail clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Adds value as a key member of the Private Banking Services team; understands the financials of businesses (across industries) and of clients (personal financial statements).
  2. Speaks to clients and centers-of-influence regularly.
  3. Monitor and manage client relationship and asks questions to determine a client's investment strategies.
  4. Promotes the bank's products and services to help clients meet their financial goals.
  5. Answers queries that the client may have about the bank's products or services.
  6. Develops and maintains existing client relationships and the needs of the wealthy clients and caters to those requirements.
  7. Cultivates and develops a new client base by identifying and contacting existing or prospective customers and promotes the bank services.
  8. Complies with all regulatory requirements and works within the framework of regulations.
  9. Does regular analysis and review of the client portfolio.
  10. Other duties as required.

Technical Expertise:

  1. Experience in private banking, particularly lending, is required.
  2. Experience with laws, regulations, and guidelines related to lending, is required.
  3. Experience in finance or banking industry is preferred.
  4. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Encompass, Cleartouch, OnBase, various government and investor software/web portals is preferred.

Education and Experience:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or mathematics is required; Master's degree is preferred.
  2. Years of experience: 7 to 10 years is required.
  3. Years of experience supervising: 3 to 5 years.

Physical Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, walk, stand, sit, bend, reach with hands and arms, climb, push/pull, use hands, and see, hear and speak.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • This position is performed in an office setting, five days a week with typical work hours being 8.00am through 5.00pm.
